The information I have says the # 306-X7162 has a ground clearance measurement of 10-1/2". The Curt # C13410 has approximately 12" to 12-1/2" of clearance when measured to the bottom of the receiver. I'm not 100% sure how accurate the EcoHitch information is since we haven't measured it ourselves.

The hole in step 14 is needed simply for access to add in the nut plate for the lower bolt on the Blue Ox Base Plate Kit # BX3617. You can just hold the baseplate up to the frame to draw line across the frame where that hole in the baseplate sits.
